Destination Las Vegas - On a Budget

If there is any destination that you can travel to on a budget, it’s Las Vegas. In years past, you could guarantee yourself a resort package in Las Vegas for a bargain price, and enjoy all the worldly indulgences you could dream of. Well, guess what? Vegas still remains a steal! But in ways you’d never imagine…

In a city that never sleeps, you can experience so much in Vegas without even opening your wallet. Enjoy the ambiance of the Big Apple complete with a Manhattan skyline and a replica of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. Walk down the cobblestone streets of Paris to a French pastry shop, take a romantic gondola ride down the Venetian's Grand Canal, or study the hieroglyphic writings in Egyptian pyramids. Other key attractions that you simply can’t miss are the grand water fountain set to music and lights in front of Bellagio, the spewing volcano at The Mirage, and pirates doing battle at Treasure Island. The Desert Passage, a new mall at the Aladdin Resort, features more than 140 stores and a dozen restaurants, and has something for every taste and every price range.

Interested in vintage Vegas? Fremont Street is a five block long street located in the heart of downtown, where all of the original casinos are located, such as the Binions and Lady Luck. Here, the largest big screen on the planet blasts state-of-the-art light and sound shows every night, free to anyone interested. There are retail shops, kiosks and souvenir stores on the Fremont promenade, along with the promise of fried Twinkies, cheap beer and 52 oz daiquiris.

Did I mention buffets? From bubbling champagne breakfasts to Gospel Brunch, seafood and beef buffets and to full-blown dessert buffets, every buffet in Vegas is very different. If you are hungry for a French style buffet, Italian buffet or BBQ style, Indian or Chinese, you will find at some buffet in Vegas. Most buffets offer child and senior prices, so if you’re traveling as a family, you’ll appreciate this little perk.

Don’t forget though, that you can always gamble with just a small amount of money. There are nickel slots, $1 roulette and blackjack tables. If you look, you will find them.
